Terms of Service
Last Updated: July 27, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Offender Locator, a product of Ridge Labs LLC ("we," "our," or "us"), including without limitation the website at sexoffendersearch.com, the iOS application, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"), you acknowledge that you have read and understood the terms and conditions of this Agreement and agree to be bound by all terms and conditions herein. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Services.
2. Lawful Use of Registry Information
Registry information is made available by government agencies to help the public protect themselves and their families. It is a crime in most states to use this information to harass, threaten, intimidate, or commit any offense against a registrant or their family, employer, or landlord.
By using the Services you agree that you will not use any information obtained through them to:
- Harass, threaten, intimidate, or stalk any person;
- Damage any person's property, employment, housing, or reputation;
- Deny any person housing, employment, credit, insurance, or other benefits or services where prohibited by law;
- Commit any crime against any person.
Violation of this section is grounds for immediate termination of your access and may expose you to criminal prosecution and civil liability under state and federal law, including state Megan's Law statutes.
3. Description of Service
Offender Locator provides an interactive map of registered sex offenders, offender profile details, address monitoring, and alert services. The Services display public registry data originating from official government sex offender registries in all 50 states, aggregated by third-party data providers. We do not create, modify, or guarantee the accuracy of this registry data.
4. Eligibility & Account Registration

12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Registry Data Accuracy
THE SERVICES DISPLAY PUBLIC RECORDS FROM GOVERNMENT SEX OFFENDER REGISTRIES AND THIRD-PARTY AGGREGATORS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR TIMELINESS OF THIS DATA. REGISTRIES ARE MAINTAINED BY INDIVIDUAL STATES ON THEIR OWN SCHEDULES; RECORDS MAY BE INCOMPLETE, INACCURATE, OR OUT OF DATE, AND A PERSON'S INCLUSION OR EXCLUSION IS DETERMINED SOLELY BY THE RESPONSIBLE GOVERNMENT AGENCY.
No Guarantee of Alert Delivery
WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT ALERTS WILL BE DELIVERED OR RECEIVED due to:
- Network connectivity issues;
- Device settings (Do Not Disturb, disabled notifications, etc.);
- Third-party service outages (push notification services, email providers);
- Delays or errors in government registry data sources;
- System maintenance or technical issues.
Not a Replacement for Official Sources
THE SERVICES ARE AN INFORMATIONAL TOOL AND ARE NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT REGISTRIES, LAW ENFORCEMENT, EMERGENCY SERVICES, OR YOUR OWN JUDGMENT. Always verify information with the official state registry — linked from every profile in the app — before acting on it.
THE SERVICES, INCLUDING ALL CONTENT, SOFTWARE, FUNCTIONS, MATERIALS, AND INFORMATION MADE AVAILABLE THROUGH THE SERVICES, ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE MAKE NO REPRESENTATIONS OR WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND WHATSOEVER, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Services;
- We are not liable for any injury or damage resulting from the acts of any registrant or other third party;
- We are not responsible for missed alerts or delayed notifications;
- We do not warrant that access to the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free;
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Services in the twelve (12) months immediately preceding the event giving rise to your claim;
- Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Services is to stop using the Services.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Ridge Labs LLC, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against all claims, losses, costs, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Services; (b) any violation of these Terms by you, including any misuse of registry information; (c) any improper or unauthorized use of the Services by you; (d) any conduct, activity, or action which is unlawful or violates the rights of any individual or entity, engaged in or facilitated through the Services; or (e) your acts or omissions. You agree to cooperate fully with us in the defense of any such claim.
15. Intellectual Property
The Services, including their design, features, content, text, graphics, maps, and software (excluding public-record registry data), together with the selection and arrangement of such materials, are the property of Ridge Labs LLC and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. The removal of any trademark, copyright, or other rights notice is strictly prohibited. Except as expressly permitted herein, any use, reproduction, modification, distribution, or exploitation of the materials, in whole or in part, is strictly prohibited without our prior express written consent. Public-record registry data itself is not claimed as our property.
16. Feedback
If you submit feedback, suggestions, or bug reports, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use them in connection with operating and improving the Services, without obligation or compensation to you.
17. Third-Party Content and Links
The Services may contain links to third-party websites, including official government registry websites, or display content from third-party sources. We do not operate or control, and do not necessarily endorse, the content found on these third-party websites. You assume sole responsibility for your use of third-party links. We are not responsible for any content posted on third-party websites or liable to you for any loss or damage incurred as a result of your dealings with any third party or their website. We do not endorse, warrant, and are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any third-party data.
18. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration
Each party agrees to first contact the other with any disputes and provide a written description of the problem, all relevant documents and information, and the proposed resolution. You agree to contact us at hello@sexoffendersearch.com.
If after thirty (30) days the parties are unable to resolve any dispute, the dispute shall be submitted to binding arbitration. Each party agrees that any claim or dispute, including past, present, and future claims, shall be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court. Either party may bring qualifying claims in small claims court. The arbitration shall be governed by the Federal Arbitration Act. Any award by the arbitrator may be entered as a judgment in any court having jurisdiction.
19. No Class Actions
TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, YOU AND RIDGE LABS LLC EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PURSUE DISPUTES ON A CLASS-WIDE BASIS; THAT IS, TO EITHER JOIN A CLAIM WITH THE CLAIM OF ANY OTHER PERSON OR ENTITY, OR ASSERT A CLAIM IN A REPRESENTATIVE CAPACITY ON BEHALF OF ANYONE ELSE IN ANY LAWSUIT, ARBITRATION, OR OTHER PROCEEDING. If for any reason any court or arbitrator holds that this restriction is unconscionable or unenforceable, then the agreement to arbitrate does not apply and the class-wide dispute must be brought in court.
20. Force Majeure
We will not be liable or responsible to you, nor be deemed to have defaulted or breached these Terms, for any failure or delay in performance when and to the extent such failure or delay is caused by or results from acts or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation: acts of God, natural disasters, governmental actions, war, terrorist threats or acts, riot or other civil unrest, national emergency, epidemic or pandemic, strikes or other labor disputes, telecommunications breakdown or power outage, or inability or delay in obtaining data from third-party or government data providers.
21. Changes to Terms and Services
We may update these Terms from time to time by posting amended Terms on our website. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date when changes are made.
We reserve the right, at any time, to modify, suspend, or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Services (or any part thereof) without notice to you. You agree that we shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any unavailability, modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Services.
22. Termination
We reserve the right in our sole discretion and at any time to terminate or suspend your access to the Services for any reason, including without limitation if you have failed to comply with these Terms — in particular Section 2. You agree that we are not liable to you or any third party for any termination or suspension of your access. Any suspension or termination shall not affect your obligations to us under these Terms. The provisions of these Terms which by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including but not limited to indemnities, disclaimers, limitations on liability, dispute resolution, and no class action provisions.
23. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law provisions. You agree that any dispute arising under these Terms or your use of the Services that is not subject to arbitration shall be resolved exclusively by state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
24. Severability
If any term or provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, such invalidity, illegality, or unenforceability shall not affect any other term or provision of these Terms or invalidate or render unenforceable such term or provision in any other jurisdiction. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
